The Apollo MA-1 Flight Jacket (pictured left) commemorates the famous Apollo 11 mission and the first landing of astronauts onto the moon during 1969. This ambitious mission fulfilled President Kennedy's 1961 goal to Congress of sending a manned flight to the moon and safely returning the crew to Earth.

Representing one of America's proudest moments, the NASA Apollo program was conceived in early 1960 as a successor to America's Mercury space program. In 1972 the Apollo 17 mission marked the last Apollo mission to the moon's surface.
